The "Music Box Dovecot" is a charming piece of Erzgebirge folk art that enchants with its nostalgic melody. By turning the crank, a wire and feather quills inside the box produce a delightful tinkling sound. This tinkling box is the predecessor of the modern music box and was already being produced in Seiffen around 1800. Over time, mechanical movements replaced the tinkling, marking the birth of the music boxes in the Erzgebirge. To this day, they are crafted in a wide variety with wind-up mechanisms.
