To explore the past, Helfried Dietel has pulled out all the stops. Privately, he has been collecting everything worth knowing about Seiffen folk art for decades. For the "Year100Book," he delved into countless documents and meeting books, uncovering many details. He personally spoke with numerous artisans, including many older ones, asking them about their memories and impressions. Together with the Seiffen families and artisans, he delved deeply into the past. "It was important to me that, in the spirit of our cooperative, no one is forgotten," describes Helfried Dietel of his approach. Thus, together with the Seiffen artisans, he unearthed many things, such as the numerous doll furniture manufacturers displaced by plastic furniture in the 1970s. "I wanted to convey the reality of the last 100 years," says Dietel. "I tried to fulfill this task with great gratitude. The book was both a responsibility and an honor for me."
