The watchman 'Cuncz' in Chemnitz began his service in 1488. His successors continued this role along with that of the town piper. Until 1913, Chemnitz had a watchman who also served as a bell ringer and a fire brigade post. These enchanting figures are lovingly crafted by hand in the traditional way.
