The "Music Box Goose Girl" is a charming piece of Erzgebirge folk art that plays the melody "Alle meine Entchen" when the crank is turned. Inside this traditional music box, a tensioned wire and quills create a tinkling sound. This instrument, known as a "Klimperkästchen," is a precursor to the modern music box and was first produced in Seiffen around 1800. Over time, mechanical movements replaced the tinkling sound, marking the birth of the Erzgebirge music boxes. Today, these music boxes are still crafted with a variety of wind-up mechanisms.
